Notes and guidance to applicants
1. You must complete all sections and questions. They are all essential to our being able to assess in full your application and suitability to become a leaseholder and active member of this Association. Failure to complete any can mean our rejecting your application.
Please note that we make every effort to comply with current UK Data Protection legislation.
2. If your application is successful in passing through various stages – not least interview, reference uptake and then approval for inclusion on the waiting list – some 6 months after inclusion we may well ask you to update any of the information thereon and you would be expected to do so in a timely manner; failure to do so would stop your application from being re-evaluated and you remaining on the waiting list.
3. Be aware that properties are considered for allocation on a room occupancy basis, and we use Shelter’s formula for that.
Examples of our usual allocation policy are: 1 person, 1 bed- [or 2-bed] flat; 2 people, 1-bed or 2-bed flat; 3 people, 2 or 3-bed flat. Any potential offer to successful applicants depends on how many applicants there are and the relationships of any other members of the household included as well as finances.
4. We may not be able to offer you the size of flat that you want but will take into account flat availability, occupancy and relationship issues of those applying and any household members. You will have the chance to consider three properties, but if you decline all of them, we shall have to conclude that together we cannot move forward and decline your application.
5. We will expect that you will either have offered to serve on the Committee of Management (COM) or completed support to the COM within 3 years of you taking up residence in Glenkerry House. If you remain for more than 10 years, a further period of service may well be required.
6. APPEAL
If your application is rejected at any stage, then within 90 days you have a right to appeal to the full Committee of Management to review RSC’s decision. This shall be handled via the Secretary (contact details below), who will supply a copy of the procedure.
Please note that you will need to provide grounds for appeal; you cannot simply state that you do not like the outcome.

7. RE-APPLY
